Our team

People who live Montessori every day

Campus Terra is run by a team of experienced teachers, guides and specialists who understand the particular needs of adolescents.

We share respect for the individuality of every young person, belief in their potential and the conviction that education should be meaningfully connected to real life.

Our guides

In Montessori education we speak of guides rather than teachers. A guide prepares the environment, observes and supports students on their journey rather than dictating it.

Practical Life and Movement Guide

„Teaching soon became my life's calling, and nothing brings me greater joy than working with young people.“

I was first inspired to work with children by a conversation with the American folk singer Pete Seeger, which had a profound influence on my life. Teaching soon became my life's calling, and nothing brings me greater joy than working with young people. Because I struggled in a traditional school as a child, the Montessori approach encouraged me to create lessons and programmes that my younger self would have enjoyed. I am an American with Czech roots and I am proud to have been able to return to the land of my ancestors. I truly value the friendly and open atmosphere at Andílek and look forward to improving my Czech within the Andílek community.

Barry holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin and a master's degree in education from Loyola University. He earned his AMI diploma for ages 6-12 at the Montessori Center of Minnesota. He is currently completing the AMI Adolescent Orientation at the Montessori Institute Prague and has two decades of experience in Montessori environments. He also studied at the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre and has taught acting and performance to children and adults for many years. Barry is also a published playwright, and his plays for young audiences have been staged across the United States and in other countries.
